I spent $60 on ink and I got about half of a page printed before the printer just stopped printing out ink at all. This is using a "genuine HP print cartridge". Any ideas what to try other than the suggestions in these videos?

In this video we discuss the process by which we clean a clogged inkjet print head. A clogged print head can result in no black printing or no color printing even after the ink cartridge has been replaced. This problem is common with HP Photosmart printers such as HP Photosmart 6520, 6525, 65XX ...

I appreciate the followup. I should have marked this solved. The youtube videos actually worked for me. As frustrating as print issues are, my printer has actually lasted a long time, so I don't have anything to complain about.

@PrintlessLea, Welcome to HP Support Community!

I see that you have print quality issues on the printer. And I appreciate your efforts in trying to resolve the issue.

If you have already performed the steps from the document Black Ink Not Printing, Other Print Quality Issues, and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

Hope this helps!

Hello, I want you to know what a lifesaver you are. I had the same problem yesterday, went out (just like everybody else) bought all new cartridges and still the problem persisted. I decided today I was going to contact HP to talk to someone, I couldn't get a human on the phone so I came to the board and miraculously I got to your post. I watched the video where the guy does the alcohol/water solution, I followed the steps and voila! my printer works again. I was just about to give up hating the thought of having to buy a new printer. You saved me from that, thank you so much!!!!!  I hope you get this message so you know you helped me by posting the solution here. If I could only figure out the scanning..... Anyway, stay safe, GG
