HP Photosmart C410 series is stuck offline

HP Photosmart Premium C410 Series
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

When I run HP print and scan doctor, it shows that I have 2 of these printers installed (but I have only 1 wireless printer): 1) HP Photosmart Premium C410 Series and 2) HP629C2D (HP Photosmart Premium C410 Series). However, in the Printers and Scanners settings in Windows 10 shows only the first one. This is the one that is constantly offline. HP print and scan doctor can connect to the 2nd printer, but can't locate the first printer (which also shows status as offline). I've checked the printer, cycled power to it. The wireless light is steady on and the router extender that is about 6 feet from the printer is on and working. I even went through the tools to reconnect it to our network. Print and scan doctor still cannot find it. I've also tried removing the printer, restarted the computer, and reinstalled the printer driver. I also was able to print a test page. Right afterward, thinking that all was OK, I sent a small document to the printer. It didn't print. I opened the printer queue and saw that the document was "printing" and that the printer was offline. Oddly though, hours later, sometimes, the documents will print and I'll see them laying on the printer output. I'm stumped. What do I need to do?

HP Photosmart C410 series is stuck offline

Hi @T_Beis

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you. Let us try these steps to resolve this issue:

To know how to connect the printer to the wireless network, refer to this document.

Make sure the PC is connected to a 2.4GHz network.

Clean reinstallation of Pre-installed HP drivers

  1.  In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
  2.  Select your HP Printer
  3.  Select Uninstall
  4.  In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
  5.  In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’
  6.  Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.
  7.  Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
  8.  Click on the “Drivers” tab
  9.  Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
  10.  Select Ok
  11.  Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
  12.  Close Devices and Printers, restart the computer.

Click here to download the HP Full-featured driver.

Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and follow the on-screen instructions.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
