HP Printer in Error mode with blinking lights

HP ENVY Photo 6234 All-in-One
macOS 10.15 Catalina

I cannot scan from my Mac anymore. When I initiate scanning (with HP sw) my printer goes into error mode with all blinking lights and the only way to go out from this mode is to plug the power cable out.

Sometimes it shows error code 0xb8afdc28

Still under the warranty.

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the scanning issue. 

 

To better assist you - Are you experiencing this while printing or copying as well? 

 

While you respond to that, let's try these steps to reset the printer - 

 

1) Take out the cartridges.

2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.

3) Wait for 30 seconds. 

4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not to a surge protector.

5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

 

Also, try updating the printer's firmware. Refer to this document for steps - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

 

HP Easy Scan is currently not fully compatible with macOS Catalina and we'd suggest you use the image capture. We're actively working to restore complete functionality. You may refer to this document for more information - HP Printers - HP Easy Scan Is Not Currently Supported in macOS Catalina

Thank you for your reply. 

The connection issue is gone, but the scanning is still the issue. 

Even Android app is reporting the same issue regarding printing: Printer error: 736429595
