I installed HP Smart. All options are working. When I choose for Support pages printing quality to clean the printer heads, a window appears with the options Align and Clean (next to each other). If i click on one of these buttons, the edge lines become black but only a small windows appears with the text Solve this problem and select Again. I can choose then between Cancel and Again. If I click on Again, the same window appears. Now I cannot clean and align the printer heads, because I see no other option in the driver program. Sorry for the possible wrong translations from Dutch.

This could be a possible issue with HP Smart App, let us try to isolate and resolve the issue-


Update the printer firmware

Download available firmware updates from the HP website

With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates. Refer to the document HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware


try updating the computer - 


Windows Updates

1) In the search box, type, and open Windows Updates. 

2) Check for updates. 

3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer. 


Use HP Print and Scan Doctor

Download HP Print and Scan Doctor and run the program. It will automatically diagnose and fix any printer issues.

Uninstall the app from your Windows 10 device through the All Apps list.

  1. In Windows, search for and open Apps & features.

  2. Click HP Smart in the list of apps, and then click Uninstall.

Install the HP Smart app

  1. On your Windows 10 device, go to HP Smart (in English) to get the app from the Windows Store, and then follow the on-screen instructions to download and install the app.

  2. On your computer, open the HP Smart app, and then click the Plus sign .

  3. Follow the on-screen prompts to add your printer or set up a new printer.

Now, try cleaning the print heads.
