HP envy 7855 won't print

I was going to use my printer this morning and it told me that the black ink cartridge needed to be re-installed;  did that several times and it is still not printing.  It has just below half the ink.  This happened the last time I had a color cartridge.

@tom655, Welcome to HP Support Community!

I understand you have issues with the black ink cartridge, I would recommend you follow the steps from the document Ink Cartridge Errors for help.

Additionally, Update the printer firmware

Download available firmware updates from the HP website

With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates. Refer to the document HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware.

If the issue persists, please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

Hope this helps!

Thank you for your reply; I've done everything but give that HP 64 black cartridge mouth to mouth resuscitation.  The printer will print with just the color cartridge, but that still hasn't fixed the problem.

@tom655

I appreciate your efforts in trying to resolve the issue. Since the issue could not be resolved it could be an issue with the ink or the printer itself and it needs to isolated.

Further, contact the HP Support in your region for help.

Cheers 🙂
