Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I have installed new cartridges and the printer is printing 2 lines of the 3rd page only.  I did print a test page which came out fine, and I did the alignment scan.  Why is the printer only printing part of one of 3 pages and the other 2 pages not at all?  Any help is appreciated!

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.

  • Try making a standalone copy in black and color to check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.
  • Which application are you trying to print from?
  • Have you tried printing different types of documents like PDF, Word or Webpages and check if the issue persists?

Check the estimated ink levels

Low ink levels can affect print quality. On the printer control panel, touch the Ink icon to display the current estimated ink levels.

Replace any low or empty ink cartridges.

 

Clean the ink cartridges

  1. On the printer control panel, swipe the display to the left, then touch Setup.

  2. Touch Tools, then touch Clean Cartridges.

  3. If the print quality is unacceptable, click Yes when prompted to perform the next level of cleaning.

Note: If the printhead is badly clogged, it might require another cleaning cycle. If so, wait 30 minutes before you perform both levels of cleaning again.

Also, perform step 13 from this document.

 

Now, print a Print Quality Diagnostic report

  1. On the printer control panel, swipe the display to the left, and then touch Setup.

  2. Touch Tools.

  3. Swipe up on the display, and then touch Print Quality Report. Examine the color blocks for defects.
