Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

My Deskjet 2540 suddenly stopped printing the color magenta. I have tried the following steps, in the following order. None of them helped:

1. Did a clean of the cartridges

2. Did a deep clean of the cartridges

3. Changed out the color cartridge for a completely new one.

4. Unplugged the printer while the power was on, waited 15 seconds, plugged the power back in.

What do you suggest I do now, given the failure of all of the above? All other functions of the printer appear to be working correctly, and the printer passes the diagnostics.

I reviewed your post and I understand that the printer is not printing magenta.

 

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

Thank you for your reply. I have performed all the steps suggested on the page you referred me to except Step 11: Clean the area around the ink nozzles. I did not perform this step because I replaced the color cartridge with a brand new cartridge, and the same exact problem occurs - magenta does not print, all other colors seen to be printing correctly.

Any additional suggestions?

Appreciate you trying the steps. This looks like a hardware issue. I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your printer.
