Message on printer says to contact support. Any suggestions on what I can do to reset. I have powered down, I have unplugged, I have the latest drivers.

I have turned it off/on several times. I have unplugged several times. I have checked the printer cartridges and all are HP and in correctly. Still nothing.
The message on the printers says:
There is a problem with the printer or ink system. Turn printer off, then on. If problem persists, contact HP.
Any ideas. I would prefer not to stay on hold for hours.
