HP6956 New cartridges not printing

HP6956

HP6956 New cartridges installed. Not printing on paper. Paper is feeding through printer OK but is blank.

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.

 

Which device are you trying to print from?

Try making a standalone copy in black and color to check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.

 

Check the estimated ink levels

On the printer control panel, touch the Ink Level Indicator icon . The control panel displays estimated ink levels.

 

Clean the printhead

The printhead could be clogged, and you might need to clean the printhead several times to restore print quality.

  1. From the printer control panel, open the Setup  menu.

  2. Open the Printer Maintenance menu.

  3. If necessary, open the Tools menu, and then touch Clean Printhead.

If the print quality is unacceptable, touch Clean Again to continue the next level of cleaning. If necessary, repeat these steps for the third cleaning cycle.

NOTE: 

If the printhead is badly clogged, it might require another cleaning cycle. If so, wait 30 minutes before you perform all three levels of cleaning again.

Also, perform step 9 from this document.

 

Print a Print Quality Diagnostic Page

  1. From the printer control panel, open the Setup  menu.

  2. Open the Reports or Tools menu.

  3. Touch Print Quality Report. Check if the issue persists.

HP6956 New cartridges not printing

Thanks Kumar0307. Have tried all your suggestions. Printer sounds as if it is working OK. However, when page feeds through, it is still blank. These are new print cartridges but I am receiving messages that print levels are low. I have tried the printer from both laptop and mobile device with same results.

If the issue persists, please contact our HP Support team for Service Options as it could be a possible hardware issue:

1) Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2) Select your product type below.

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Select the appropriate option based on your preference.

6) Fill the web-form and proceed further.
