HP8600 control panel no longer will open on my desktop PC

Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel. 


I understand you are trying to get the printer menu on your desktop. Try the steps below:

  • Unplug the USB cable from the printer and computer if present.
  • Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select the HP 8600 printer entries and uninstall them.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Now click http://hp.care/2dUYVtJ and enter your printer model number to download and install the printer drivers.
  • Connect the USB cable if needed.

Once the new drivers are installed, try to check the functionality.
