hello. My printer is an hp3522. I have to change the network name. The test report still list the Old name. I tried to follow the user manual but I can not find the menu to do this. Pressing the wireless button (7) does not give me that option.

please. Advise.

@Cnd58

Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums.

I understand that you have an HP Deskjet 3522 e-All-in-One Printer and you would like to change the network name. Not worry, I'll do my best to help you.

To provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • You cannot change the network name from the printer. But are you trying to connect the printer to a new router or a  wireless network?

If you're trying to connect the printer to a new wireless network then you may convert the USB connection to wireless. If the printer drivers are already installed and the printer works fine via USB then please perform the following steps:

  • Have the printer connected via USB and make sure that the printer is working fine.
  • From the computer’s start menu select All Programs or Programs, and then select HP.
  • Select HP Deskjet 3520 series.
  • Select Printer Setup and Software.
  • Select Convert a USB connected printer to wireless. Follow the onscreen instructions.

I hope this information helps. Please let me know how it goes. Good luck! 🙂

I am having the same problem and it is driving me crazy. I have restored to factory default twice to no avail.   I have uninstalled and reinstalled software and printer to no avail.  Anyone else have any ideas?  There surely has to be a way to get the printer off the old network name.
