Hi patriciarose7,

You should use a clean lint free cloth to clean the ink of the bottom of the cartridge. You need to try a different cartridge to make sure you do not have a defective cartridge.

I will....but if there's a problem with the new one then I know that this printer has seen it's days as it was given to me by my church pastor....He didn't have the CD but I downloaded the programs from the HP site.

It will take me a little bit of time to get a new cartridge as when I live there isn't any shop close to me I have to travel to the south end of town and I am also on a fixed income but will do my best.

thanks again for all your help..

Pat

Hi pcwizard: I have resolved my problem by buying a new Canon Pixma printer, scanner and copier....
Now i want to delete my problem from this site....could you assist me in this? Thanks for all your help...

I'm not pcwizard, but I can answer this question for him.  The only way to delete a discussion is to contact a moderator and ask them to.  There really isn't a need to though.  Regardless of what the outcome was, this thread may help other users with the same problem.  Hope this helps.
