Smart Tank Wireless 450

My son has had printer for about 18 months but hasn't used it much and now it is not printing black.  I ran multiple clean/align cycles but still no black (there is definitely ink in the tank and I even topped it up to be sure).  When I look in at the printheads I can see the 4 x ink clear ink tubes.  The 3 x colour tubes are full of ink but the black tube only has a couple of spots of ink in it.

Is there a way to manually trigger a prime sequence to pump more ink into the tube?

Kumar - thanks for the response.  After trying all of the online help files (prior to receiving your response) I actually dug out the receipt and took it back to where I bought it and they replaced it under warranty and so now I have a new Smart Tank 450 Wireless Printer and everything is working again 🙂

Cheers,

Well that was short lived!!!  The new printer is less than a month old and guess what - it now has what seems to be exactly the same issue and the black ink is not printing!!!  I did multiple cleaning cycles and have printed page after page of black, bold text to try and sort things out......it got a little bit better but is still unacceptable.

Funnily enough I went to the HP site and typed in the serial number of the printer to check the warranty status and I got a message saying that the warranty started in September 2018 and finished in December 2019 - that seems a bit strange and I am now wondering if this printer had been previously returned for warranty reasons and has been "repaired" and put back in a box and resold as new??

I really can't afford to be mucking around with these any more - surely it can't be that hard to have a printer that works!!
