@Val34, Welcome to HP Support Community!

The only option left is to perform an OOBE reset and re-initialize the printer.

The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Forums profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.

Hope this helps!

Hi. I have the same problem. My 6700 stopped working as it shows a message like "printhead missing or not detected". Of course I use genuine HP cartridges and all four are new. The menu control panel and the touchscreen are also frozen with this message.

What should I do now? How can I perform a hard reset and make my printer fully functional again?

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Do you get the same message when you insert your old ink?

Let's try to reset the Printer here:

Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.

  1. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  2. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  3. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  4. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  5. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  6. NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
  7. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  8. Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  9. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Also, try connecting the Printer to a different wall outlet directly.

If the issue persists, please perform the remaining steps from this document: https://support.hp.com/in-en/product/hp-officejet-6700-premium-e-all-in-one-printer-series-h711/4322...

If the issue still persists, I recommend you to contact the HP Support Team regarding this as this could be a hardware issue.

I am  also having the same issue. The printer was working yesterday morning. I turned the printer off. When I turned it back on I got the "Missing or Failed Printhead" / "The printhead appears to be missing, not detected, or incorrectly install" error message. i replaced all the cartridges with new HP cartridges. I still have the message. When I click on "estimate ink levels" it shows they are all full.

I installed three new color cartridges today, All HP 933XL. The test print showed the yellow was coming out as brown, so I ran the diagnostics and print-head cleaning programs. Now I get the 0x61011bed, jammed cartridge error. Any thoughts on why my printer is suddenly doing this with brand new HP ink cartridges?
