After installing a new black ink cartridge a message is displayed "The indicated cartridges are not intended for use in this printer". The cartridge number is correct??

I reviewed your post and I understand that you are getting any error message after installing the new cartridge.

 

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

 

Are you using the printer in the same country it was purchased?

 

Meanwhile, I recommend you follow the below steps and check if it helps.

 

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. 
  2. Remove USB cable, if present. 
  3. Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge. 
  4. Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer. 
  5. Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

Hi, I purchased the printer in the UK. I have in the past used non HP cartridges as well as HP and found both to work without issue. I have carried out the suggested checks etc without success with both HP cartridges installed. The message relates to the black. The printer does work with the black removed. 

This problem started after the printer started cycling during the night??? I am reluctant to purchase yet another cartridge, although the message is the same with a non HP installed.
