HP Envy 7640
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an HP Envy 7640 that keeps printing unwanted grid lines on everything it prints.  It overlays a two-cell grid, covering up whatever else I am trying to print.  If the page were oriented as Landscape, it would look like  it was attempting to print only columns A & B with borders from an excel document.  If the page is oriented as Portrait, it appears to be a 1.5" tall grid at the bottom of the page, with long vertical boxes stacked on top of each other.  I have tried to reboot the printer, reload the driver, and the trouble shooter can't identify the problem.  Has anyone every experience something like this?

Do you experience the same issue when making Photocopies?

Try printing a Quality Diagnostic Report and let me know if you see those grids

  1. Load U.S. letter or A4 size, unused, plain white paper into the input tray.

  2. On the printer control panel, swipe the display to the left, and then touch Setup.

    The Setup menu displays.

  3. Touch Reports, and then touch Print Quality Report.

A Print Quality Diagnostic page prints.

Also you can try printing using HP Smart App and let me know if that works

Sounds like you have a footer set in your software. Does this affect documents from different programs. As a test open notepad create a document with a couple of lines of text and print that.
