HP Photosmart 6520

Every time I need to print a document the printer defaults to photo.  The settings are set to 8.5 x 11, and it still won’t print.

Welcome to HP forums, I see that your printer keeps defaulting to photo printing.

  • Which operating system is installed on the computer to which this printer is connected?
  • How is the printer connected to the computer, USB or Wireless?
  • Are you getting any error message?

Reply with the requested information for more assistance.

Cheers.

Thanks for the reply.

I appreciate your time and effort.

Are you printing using AirPrint or HP Smart App?

If you are printing using AirPrint.

AirPrint does not have the option to change the paper size. If your printer has a paper sensor, AirPrint automatically adjusts the print size to the detected paper. If your printer has a control panel with the option to change paper sizes, you can change the paper size and the iOS device detects the new size. The printout is then scaled accordingly.

You can watch this Youtube video from 6 mins and change the paper settings in the control panel:- Click here

Let me know how it goes.

To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.

Cheers.
