I installed a new black ink cartridge into my HP Envy 5540 and it displays "remove and reinstall the indicated ink cartridge..."I have done this several times. I then unplugged unit for 30 sec. and tried to install again with no results. I followed steps to update firmware and it displays "most current updates have been installed". I reinstalled old cartridge and no "ink cartridges problem" was displayed. Could the new ink cartridge be defective?
If the issue still persists, I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding this.
