I had bought the printer a while back for our daughter but she ended up not needing it so I keep it and recently set it up.  I recently bought a new HP 65 cartridge and when I installed the black it says there is a problem with the print head please reinstall.  I can not get the message to go away and have gone through the troubleshooting pages.  I tried contacting HP support and ended up in a frustrating loop because they do not have an option for ink cartridges.  PLEASE, how can I get this cartridge which has an expiration date of 06/06/2021 replaced?

I understand that you are getting a printhead error while installing the new black ink cartridge.

 

Do not worry. I will try to fix the issue.

 

Please perform the hard reset and check for the issue.

 

  1. Turn the printer on, if it is not already on. 

  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue. 

  3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer. 

  4. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. 

  5. Wait at least 60 seconds. 

  6. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet. 

  7. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer. 

  8. Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on. 

  9. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed 

Please remove all ink cartridges.  and remove the printhead, Install the printhead and then install the ink cartridges one by one and check for the issue.

 

If you are still getting the printhead error., You have to contact phone support. They will help you.

3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.

4)Select the country from the drop-down.

5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.
