I have the HP Office Jet 4650, purchased in July, 2018, and I keep getting the message, even after removing and reinstalling the ink cartridges.
"Ink Cartridge Problem - Remove and reinstall the indicated ink cartridge, making sure it is correctly installed."
I am part of the HP Instant Ink Program and have only inserted genuine HP ink sent to me. I have cleaned the heads with a lint-free cloth. I have to be honest, I'm getting awfully frustrated! For a while, the printer would print one document at a time if I clicked the ink cartridges out and then put them back in for each new document sent (a big pain). Now, it just won't print at all. I'd appreciate some help.

@3littlebirds, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Which ink cartridge is indicated on the error message?
You may try inserting once ink cartridge at a time to identify the defective ink cartridge.
Let us try these steps to resolve this issue:
Reset the printer
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
- Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.
Update the printer firmware
