In printing my Christmas envelopes this year, about half of them had ink globs in one corner. What is going on? I printed the same address info on plain paper w/o a problem. Distressing to send these out, but time did not allow reordering.

There is likely some excess ink on either the printhead or somewhere else in the printer and because the envelopes are thicker they make contact with it whereas the plain paper is not high enough. The clearance in these printers is measured in milli-meters thickness of paper can make all the difference.

That gives me a possibility, but does not explain why not and not in years past. That does not give me a solution as in clean, fix, repair. Something I can access or lose the use of my printer for a month? Buy another one? What brand?
