Same situation with me. I took out the printhead, cleaned per HP instructions online. All cartridges are genuine HP. Just put a new black one on it printed 2 pages then quit. After cleaning and checking, resetting & doing all the suggested things, it gives me the "Ink System Failure" and will not print or copy. I just wasted a bunch buying 4 new black 564 cartridges which will be wasted as I will have to buy a new printer...Like others, if the online suggestions don't work, I won't be getting another HP. All I need is black print & copy. My color cartridges have been empty for years and all I've used is the black. So now it doesn't want to work. Thanks but no thanks, nothing works. It wil not print a status report, alignment report or anything.

Same issue here. Going tomorrow to look at Brother & Epson. Have used HP for years but support leaves a lot to be desired. Brother & Epson both have good reviews and a new printer is cheaper then a printhead & ink.
