I replaced the black ink cartridge (65) in my printer a week ago, printed about 20 pages and the ink cartridge is empty again.

Did you print normal documents or picture/images?

Printing photos consume more ink than printing documents/text on a regular paper.

For more information about cartridge yields and ink use, click here

 

For now, let us try these steps: 

 

Update the printer firmware

Click here to download and install the latest firmware from your MAC.

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

 

Also, check the print settings on your MAC

If you are printing in BEST mode, it will consume more ink. Refer to this document

Adjust print quality: Click Media & Quality, and then move the Quality slider to the desired setting.
