HP 8720 Printer

HP952 series ink cartridges do not go all the way in.  Replacing with new genuine cartridges. Cartridges worked fine in my other printer which is a HP8710.

The problem I have is that the cartridges do not slide in like they are supposed to.  They stop about halfway in and I have problems even getting them out. I have 2 of these printers and only one of them has the problem.  I cannot figure what is causing this problem. Ideally the cartridges go in as per your instructions. Have had these printers for some time and never had this problem before.  Also have message that I cannot turn off the printer unless cartridges are in the machine or it could damage the printer.  So, printer has been on for a couple days now.  Had noticed that a couple of other people have had similar problem but no solution.  Are you familiar with this problem? Usually a simple process inserting the cartridges.

This seems to be a hardware issue.
