Hp ENVY Photo 7100 Series

Changed cartridges, ink level was full. I started printing some photos and about 10 in I received the notification that ink was depleted and that it would affect printing. I hit ok to override because none of the photos before showed any sign of ink running out. IMMEDIATELY all yellow tones disappeared despite being all previous prints having yellow show up strongly. This happened twice with two different packages of cartridges from different locations, all in their original packaging so both sets being counterfeit is highly unlikely. Turning off and unplugging the printer from the wall has not worked.

@nmrindahl, Welcome to HP Support Community!

Ink is used in a number of ways throughout the inkjet printing process. In general, ink in an ink cartridge is used for printing documents, photographs, and other such materials. Some ink, however, must be used to maintain the health of the print head; some ink is residual, and some ink evaporates.

Refer to the document Ink Usage for HP Inkjet Printers for details.

This was a brand new cartridge, meaning removed from the their original wrapping and placed in the printer the same day as purchasing. When placed in the printer the cartridge read as completely full, first few photos came out great all colors showing with no fading. Then I received the notice the cartridge was depleted and then all yellow tones disappeared. This all occurred in a single day, and was the second cartridge I had the same issue. HP Support page is also nonfunctional every time I try to get help.
