Officejet 7612 printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Received error message "Ink System Failure" and "Missing or failed printhead".  Completed all the steps recommended to no avail. Worked briefly after 16 hours and failed again. Performed all the cleaning etc. however, if I select "Show Me", that does not work either. I have had this printer just two years to the day and its has completely failed. I looked at the suggestions from people on the blog but those steps have not worked for me either. I hate to think I wasted money on this printer. It failed me in the middle of an important project.

Jeet_singh, Sorry for the delay. I had to finish my project with another printer due to a time crunch. I left the 7610 off completely for several days. I just turned it back on to follow your suggestions. Immediately it printed what was left in spool and then went into maintenance mode. I just printed out an email successfully. I don't know if this will last since something similar occurred previously but I will keep you posted. Thank you and I will get back to you soon.

I see from the post that you are getting a '0x' error message on your HP OfficeJet 7612 Printer. Don't worry as I have a few steps to help you get through this concern,

Let's start off by performing a Hard reset on the printer and make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.

Remove all the ink cartridges and then try to perform a hard reset on the printer.

With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

Remove USB cable, if present.

Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.

Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.

Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

Now insert the ink cartridges and then try to print a test page and check if it works.

If your printer connected wirelessly, make sure to temporary connect the device with USB and then follow the link to download and install the latest firmware for your printer, click here: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/OJ7612/OJ7612_R1615A.exe

I know it has been awhile but . . . the printer finally failed along with my other printer and a USB port on my PC. Yep, you guessed it if you think something else happened to cause all this - lightening strike directly to my telephone box. However I did manage to salvage one printer by using the power cord from the "dead" printer. So there is always some good somehow.
