Inkjet printer randomly had multiple issues

HP OfficeJet Pro 6978
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Working one day and not the next, my printer now refuses to print color, even though cartridges were replaced within the past couple of days, and the black prints have very defined, thick horizontal dead zone areas which also refuse to print. Tried the cleaning feature and no change, tried the alignment feature and it said it was unable to read the alignment page. Not sure what to do

Inkjet printer randomly had multiple issues

We determined that a gear inside the printer broke in half and that was the source of the problem
