Deskjet 3632
macOS 10.14 Mojave

I tried to print something and the paper was blank except for a couple lines. So I changed out my black cartridge. The deskjet is blinking a yellow warning light saying my black cartridge is empty. I put the old (empty) one back in and it says it’s full. Each time I put the new cartridge in, it shows empty. When I try to print I get an error message “check printer for errors.” I have turned it off and on, I’ve unplugged it and reset it... nothing is working.

@AHubbyrn, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Make sure the ink cartridges are compatible

Perform step 2 and 3 from this document.

Note: Remove the protective plastic tape from the new ink cartridge before inserting it in the printer.

Let me know how this goes.

I’ve already done all these things. And I’m using the correct printer ink cartridge. It’s the exact same as the old, empty one I took out. It misreads the empty one too. It says that cartridge isn’t empty.
