HP Printsmart D110

I installed a new tricolor ink cartridge. When i printed the alignment page it was a weak blue black. The printer still hadn't found the new ink. I scanned and calibrated to it and now my printer will only print black.

Hi @Amy_Mars

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you. Let us try these steps to resolve this issue:

Reset the printer

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.

Check the estimated ink levels, replace any empty/low ink cartridge.

  1. Touch the button () next to the Setup icon () in the lower-left corner of the control panel.

  2. Touch the Right Arrow button () to select Tools, and then touch OK.

  3. Touch the Right Arrow button () to select Estimated Ink Levels, and then touch OK.

Use an automated tool to clean the printhead

  1. Touch the button () next to the Setup icon () in the lower-left corner of the control panel.

  2. Touch the Right Arrow button () to select Tools, and then touch OK.

  3. Touch the Right Arrow button () to select Clean Printhead, and then touch OK.

  4. Review the print quality on the printhead test page. If the print quality is still unacceptable, follow the instructions to run a Second-level clean. You might need to clean the printhead several times to restore optimal print quality.

Try printing.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
