Hi @Lovetofly7478

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you. Let us try these steps to resolve this issue:

Reset the printer

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.

Check for obstructions in the carriage path

Refer to step 1 from this document.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I tried opening Contact HP Puerto Rico but it is in Spanish.  Does this mean I am going to have to get a service call to fix this problem.?? I never even printed with the wrong cartridge. There has to be a fix to a perfectly functable computer that your designers set a booby trap into?? **bleep**

@Lovetofly7478, Welcome to HP Support Community!

HP does not recommend usage of non-HP ink. there are chances of the printer ink system getting corrupt and HP will not guarantee the functionality of the ink cartridges further.

If you have already performed the steps from the document  'Printer Failure' Error and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

Hope this helps!
