Deskjet 3520

My 3520 printer is intermittently printing black ink, sometimes it works but others, comes out grainy or stripy on lines of text. A quality reports shows there is a problem with the black ink. I have replaced the cartridge, cleaned the air-hole, used the clean heads function and other obvious things. Any advise as to why this is happening please?

Hi you can try the following. (use rubber gloves)
Remove power to the printer before attempting the following.
There is a little mesh filter below the black cartridge. (visible when you take the cartridge out).
Dab it gently with a Q-tip moistened in hot water.
It may take a few tries to get the mesh filter unplugged.
Try printing.
