Is it true that Windows 10 no longer supports my HP Deskjet D1420?

HP Deskjet D1420
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My HP Deskjet D1420 was having trouble. When I removed the printer from the printer options on the computer, I then began the process of reinstalling the printer driver. I downloaded the software, but when I ran it I got an error. I then followed the HP instructions to run a troubleshoot. It seemed to say that I needed Windows 8 to reinstall my printer. I verified that I have Windows 10 64-bit. I didn't want to screw up my computer so I went to HP website and found a list of printers that are compatible with Windows 10. I don't think it was on the list, but I'm not sure  because the printer numbers they used didn't have a letter followed by a number like my printer name has. I don't know the model number. The product label says the printer was made in 2007 (wow) and has a large number CB623A on it. The regulatory number (?) is VCVA-0702. Can anyone help me? I don't want to get rid of a working printer, but if it's not supported by Windows 10 I guess I'll have to.
