HP 350 Ink cartridge
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I bought a recently expired (March 2019) HP 350 ink cartridge. However, my printer C5280 does not recognise it and keeps asking me to insert the cartridge when I already have. I noticed the hanging rack slot is slightly different to other advertised boxes. There is no holographic icon and I'm not sure where the security number is so I can check authenticity. Is it below the expiry date printed on the actual cartridge? Appreciate help. Chrisg149. (Photos below).  HP 350 Cartridge.jpgHP 350 Cartridge box.jpgHP 350 Cartridge number.jpg

P.S. The inner package (see photos) has perforations. I thought it was suppose to be airtight?  Chrisg149Perforations?Perforations?Inner packageInner package

You cartridge expired in MAR 2019, it's produced sometime during 2017.

HP started to use holograms and made some changes to packaging boxes in early 2019. that's why yours doesn't have a hologram label.

Your cartridge looks genuine to me from the pictures you posted, but it's expired. Expired cartridges can cause problems not to be recognised in the printer.

Thanks for your response.  I bought a brand new cartridge (not expired) and it works perfectly.  What made suspicious about the expired cartridge is the package.  If you look at the 2 attached photos you will see the expired package has an unusual narrow plastic hanging slot with logo below (I've highlighted in a yellow graphic box). While the new cartridge has a common triangular slot with logo alongside.

Those are 2 different packaging boxes, that doesn't prove a fake product.

Hi Valsimot. Your packaging point accepted.  But when a new cartridge fitted it instantly worked?  I've fitted expired cartridges before that worked okay. This one expired quite recently in March 2019.  Part of me hoping that it is not a fake as I don't want all the hassle of returning it.  But I just felt having paid for a "genuine" cartridge I should double check. Appreciate your thoughts.
