Officejet Pro 8600 Plus
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

My HP Officejet 8600 Plus is not working after I installed some new ink cartridges that I purchased from Costco. Turns out my latest empty one has no region (there is no Z# )," and the new ones I purchased are actually for US and Canada.

So, how to now get the appropriate local, correct OEM cartridges to work? I understand that Regionalization reset is the answer to my problems.

Followed the instructions by Bob_Headrick on this post. https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Inkjet-Printing/I-need-a-regionalization-reset-for-my-inkjetpro-8600/t...

I have an open case With HP, but not sure if they will help me since my printer is out of warranty. What else I can do?

Hi @jjtorr51

Welcome to the HP Support Community. To assist you better, I would like to know the following:

  • What is the error message on the printer screen?
  • To perform a region reset on the printer, you will need to have all four new ink cartridges in the printer.
  • Are the printer and the ink cartridges bought in the same region?

Find below the compatible ink cartridges for your printer:

Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hello:

I changed the cartrigdes twice using cartridges from different lots. and mag. dates. The messages received were " damaged cartridges" and sometimes "counterfeit cartrdges". I installed them in varios combinations and olso turn off the printer to erase any signal in it. All new cartridges are identified as z10. Old cartridges does not have that identification. I bought those cartridges at COSTCO hear in Purto Rico, a caribbean island and a colony of USA. The printer was ok until black cartridge was empty and I tried to change it.
