The problem with my 8610 started right after I installed an update suggested by the printer. Immediately the printer displayed the missing or failed printhead message. I tried the solutions recommneded, reset the printer, hard reset of printer, remove and reseat the printhead assembly three times, remove the ink cartridges, etc. Nothing works. My printer worked just fine until this update. What is HP up to now? Putting malicious updates to kill older printers so we have to buy new ones? As I stated earlier, my printer was perfect until this update. I have been a loyal HP customer for 20 years. Now this event is making me switch.

Brother here I come.
