I have a HP OJ 7510 giving a B8BDEEDE error and 'Printhead missing' error.

From all the posts read it seems the only solution is to buy a new printer...

Seriously! In a world of ECO and Green we have to trash our printers every 18 months?

What's even worse is the Support messages congratulating everyone on their new hardware!

...Some research into longer lasting and repairable printers is about to begin.

Hi @HappyPrinter3

Welcome to the HP Support Community. Apologies for the inconvenience. I'd be happy to assist you. Let us try these steps to resolve this issue:

Reset the printer

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.

Perform step 2 mentioned in this document.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Thank you for the reply,

Those were the steps I tried, numerous times, from previous posts I read on this site.

It did not work.

I also called an HP agent and his recommendation was to buy a new printer.

I found a repair shop that is evaluating the printer, I will know later, the outcome..

Thanks

@HappyPrinter3, that's unfortunate. This seems like a hardware issue. It is better to upgrade the printer rather than buying a new printhead as the HP technician said.

Keep me posted for any other assistance. happy to help!
