My printer used to print color but it no longer does.

It used to just fine. I am on Mac OS Catalina.

My family members who are on Windows can print color just fine

I have tried the hard reset. I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting the computer and everything else suggested on the message boards.

The color option is not available anywhere. Help!

Hi @ValerieTTT

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the color printing issue.

To better assist you - What's the application that you are trying to print from?

While you respond to that, try these steps to update the Mac - Keep your Mac up to date

Update the printer's firmware. Refer to this document for step by step instructions - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

Try adding the printer using the AirPrint driver -

1.) Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.

2.) Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, If your printer is listed, click the printer name, click the minus sign  to delete the printer.

3.) If you see multiple printer queues for the same printer, remove all extra printers by selecting them one at a time, and then clicking the minus button at the bottom of the list.

4.) Click the plus sign click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name.

5.) Click the Use or Print Using menu, select AirPrint in the pop-up menu. Then click Add. Select AirPrint from the Use menu
6.) Try to print.

You may also check the settings using these steps - HP Printers - Print Settings Guide (Mac)

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I have this problem as well. The solution did not solve my problem. I have had this problem in the past - and found a 3rd party source for the driver. That worked for 3 months. I've had this printer since August and it's done this ... 3 times now. I also see that it is a problem with this printer model via an online search.

Has HP no direct source for a proper driver download?

Have you tried these steps yet?
