My HP Deskjet 2645 won't print

HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2645
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My HP Deskjet 2645 won't print. It prints small blocks of test pages but the documents I need to print come out blank. There is enough ink in both cartridges and the printer is not offline. Please help

Welcome to the HP Forums. I would be happy to help you with your HP Deskjet 2645 printer. I understand that it prints blank and you have already done some preliminary troubleshooting. 


Don't worry though as I have a few steps to determine the issue and find a solution as well,


Clean the printhead.

  1. Load letter or A4, unused, plain white paper into the paper tray.

  2. On the printer control panel, press the Down Arrow () to select Tools, and then press OK.

  3. Press the Down Arrow () to select Clean Printhead, and then press OK. The printer cleans the printhead and then prints a printhead test page.

  4. Review the print quality on the printhead test page and check if the issue persists.

Align the cartridges.

  1. Lift the scanner lid.

  2. Place the alignment page with the print side down on the right-front corner of the scanner glass. See the engraved guide next to the scanner glass for help loading the alignment page.

  3. Close the scanner lid, and then press OK on the control panel.

  4. The printer scans the alignment page.

  5. After the alignment completes, press OK to continue.

Click here and refer the document to perform the above steps.

My HP Deskjet 2645 won't print

My printer Deskjet 2645 can't print any Microsoft Office File unless I use notepad. May I know how to fix this problem? My OS is Windows 7.0 32 bit and 64 bit. Please advise, TQ!

2. Operating System installed (if applicable)
• Example: Windows XP, Windows Vista 32-bit, Windows 7 64-bit
3. Error message (if any)
• Example: ""Low disk space"" error in Windows
4. Any changes made to your system before the issue occurred
• Examples: Upgrading your Operating System or installing a new software; or installing new hardware like a printer, modem, or router.
