HP OfficeJet 4658
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I had this problem previously and uninstalling the drivers and related software fixes it for just one print, but the second time I print after reinstalling the drivers the problem comes back.

There is no option whatsoever anywhere on the computer to change the colour. Not in word or printer settings. I cannot find a single colour option in printer preferences or control panel, nothing in advanced settings either.

The firmware is up to date already. All the drivers have been reinstalled multiple times.

It will only print in colour if I print a test page directly from the printer.

This is my previous post: Whilst the solution works, it is only temporary and works for just one print. This is extremely frustrating, can I have some help please I would really really appreciate a solution.

Welcome to HP support community.

This might require remote access of the computer to fix the issue.

I request you to talk to HP support.

They might have multiple options to help you with this.

  1. Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp?openCLC=true
  2. Select the country.
  3. Enter the serial of your device.
  4. Select the country from the drop-down.
  5. Click on "Show Options".
  6. Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

I hope that helps.

To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.

Cheers.
