My Printer doesn't recognize Black Ink cartridge

Hello; This is my first post, here.

 

(Originally posted in the LaserJet Printing section but I think my Envy Printer is an InkJet. I'm not sure).

 

My printer, despite trying all of the suggested fixes possible, refuses to recognize the black ink cartridge.

 

I have tried everything....

  • Replacing with new cartridges.
  • Cleaning the chips on both cartridges and printer (and never touching the chips).
  • Since I'm using a repurposed cartridge, I changed the cartridge recognition/cartridge protection setting off.
  • I've rebooted my printer.
  • I've restored Factory Default settings.
  • I downloaded that software.
  • I'VE DONE IT ALL.

....But it still refuses to read my black Ink cartridge. It reads the Color one fine.

 

Anything else I need to do or do I need to buy a new printer?

If you have already performed the steps from the document  HP Printer Does not Print and Error Indicates Faulty Ink Cartridge and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

 

Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.
