My black cartridge has plenty of ink. Message says to reload. I've done that. Still has error messag

My cartridge still has plenty of ink. It was printing just fine, then starting messing up. The error message says to reload.

I have done that several times and so my only remaining option is to purchase a new cartridge. Is there any remedy for the ink that is being wasted ($$) when the cartridge still has a lot of ink.

By the way, I did update the firmware.

Try cleaning the electrical contacts on the cartridges and check if that helps
