HP Envy 5640 All in one
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Once upon a time my printer worked great with my computer but for the last few months I have not been able to print from my computer. It was connected through the WiFi but I have tried connecting with a printer cable and WiFi but it is not working. The blue light is light up on the printer and it is a solid blue. I have even tried shutting off my firewall and reinstalling the printer program (drivers) again and it wont finish the install because it is telling me that my IP address and hostname is wrong.

Thank you for any help that you can give

Hi sandytechy20

Thank you for helping me. I did everything that it said in your feed but unfortunately I am getting the same error message.

It is telling me Unsuccessful Network Installation (The device was unable to be installed over the network).

The program does a Network Check and my printer comes up in the device list. So I click the next button and it is going through the Installing network device but then it stops and gives me the error message.

Thank you

Use the Microsoft Fixit Solution

Microsoft has released an automated solution that fixes installation problems.

Go to Fix problems that block programs from being installed or removed (in English) to download and run the tool.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor

  1. Turn on the printer and load plain paper in the main tray.

  2. Download HP Print and Scan Doctor, and then follow the prompts to install and open the tool.

  3. On the welcome screen, click Start to locate your printer.

    NOTE:

If your printer is not found, click My product is not listed, and then follow the instructions troubleshoot the connection.

  4. Read and respond to the instructions to install any required software or fix any network connection issues.

Refer this  HP document for more assistance:- Click here

I hope that helps.
