New (refurbished) printer and cartridges. No magenta ink prints even though diagnostics say everything is fine. Cleaned the cartridge. Need a new one?

To assist you better, what model HP printer are you using?
Try making a standalone copy in color and check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.
Also, check the ink levels and replace any low/empty ink cartridge.
