HP Photosmart C5189

 I recently purchased ink from the HP website and installed it in my printer and the printer is not recognizing that it’s new so it shows that some of the ink cartridges are empty. I tried shutting it off and holding the help and O.K. button to reset it while plugging it back inand it still doesn’t help. I also can’t get it to print a alignment page but that might be due to the ink issues.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

 

If you insert your old ink, do you still get the error message? If no, the new cartridge might be defective, you could return it to the place of purchase.
