Color Laser Jet Pro MFP M277dw

The printer is not printing the whole picture.

It will cut off about 1/4 of the picture.

It will look perfect on print preview.

Does not happen with all pictures...mostly with pictures gotten from the web.

Help!

Hi @Aranea,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!

I understand that you're unable to print a full picture from the internet with your Color Laser Jet Pro MFP M277dw PrinterI would be happy to help you and please remember to return to this thread and mark 'Accept as Solution', if I have successfully helped you resolve the issue. If you wish to say 'thanks' for my effort to help, click the 'thumbs up' to give me a Kudos.

I see that this does not happen with all photos. It sounds like something could be wrong with your browser.

In order for me to assist you better, I may require more information.

What operating system are you using?

From which browser are you trying to print?

  • Try printing from other browsers like Internet Explorer, FireFox or Google Chrome.

In the meantime, I believe these steps might help resolve the issue, so you can continue to print online.

If you're running Windows:

Reset your Internet Explorer browser settings

  1. Close any Internet Explorer or Windows Explorer windows that are currently open.

  2. Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button. In the search box, type Internet Explorer, and then, in the list of results, click Internet Explorer.

  3. Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.

  4. Click the Advanced tab, and then click Reset.

  5. Select the Delete personal settings check box if you would like to remove browsing history, search providers, Accelerators, home pages, and InPrivate Filtering data.

  6. In the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box, click Reset.

  7. When Internet Explorer finishes restoring the settings, click Close, and then click OK.

  8. Close Internet Explorer.

Reset your Firefox browser settings

  1. Type about:config in the Address Bar and press Enter. A list of preferences will appear.
  2. Find the preference print.print_printer (Note: this preference is missing in Firefox profiles where you've never used the printer.)
  3. Right-click (context-click) that preference and select Reset. (Some users may need to reset all the print.printer preferences for a particular printer, if resetting this one master preference doesn't solve the problem.)
  4. Restart Firefox and see if the problem is resolved.

Reset your Google Chrome browser settings

  1.  In the top-right corner of the browser window, click the Chrome menu Chrome menu
  2.  Select Settings.
  3.  At the bottom, click Show advanced settings.
  4.  Under the section "Reset settings,” click Reset settings.
  5.  In the dialog that appears, click Reset.

it was a simple fix. when the print option (fit picture to frame) is checked it left 1/4 frame off. Uncheck box and it printed full picture.

I am using two networked HP printers.  An OfficeJet Pro 8720 and a ColorJet Pro MFP M477fdw.  I am also using Win 7 Pro and Office Pro 2010.  When I insert a picture into a word document and then print the document, part of the right side of the picture does not print.  The document shows the complete picture in print preview.  The picture inserted can be a saved picture from a file or a snipped picture from Internet Explorer.  And it happens on both printers.  Since I did not have this issue on the two Epson printers that were replaced by the HP printers I am guessing some kind of setup selection is causing the problem.

Hi - The problem is once you have copied the picture (from a free clipart website), and pasted it into a document, the printer cuts of a quarter of the picture.  I've tried different formats (.BMP, .GIF, .PDF, .JPG).  Still does it.  It looks fine on Print Preview.  The hard copy, however, is the problem.  Thank you for any help you may be able to give.

We have a HP Envy 5052 and I am having the same problem.  It shows that it is going to print the whole picture but then when I print the page part of clipart is cut off.  If I send it to our copier/printer it does not do this.
