macOS 10.13 High Sierra

I just replaced an empty colored ink cartridge with a new one but the printer is still saying it is empty and will no longer print.  It will not even allow me to use black ink only mode. I have tried several times to reinsert ink cartridge - but this has not worked.  I know the cartridge is full and I have tried 2 different ones.  Any ideas?  I also restarted my computer and updated.

Hi @Docedythe ,

Welcome to the HP Support-Community.

I can help you with that kind of issue! First of all, please name your exact printer model. Thanks!

You can try this steps:

1. Turn on the printer and wait until it stops making noise
2. Remove both cartridges and close the access door.
3. Now, with the printer on, unplug the power plug from the back of the printer and wait 60 seconds.
4. now plug in the power cable and put the cartridges back in.

What is the result?

Cheers!

Nils
