OFFICEJET 4650 - MAC - WON'T PRINT

OFFICEJET 4650
macOS 10.13 High Sierra

Computer connected via USB to printer. Send document to print. The printer reads "printing" on the screen, but nothing happens. The bar of death keeps spinning.

OFFICEJET 4650 - MAC - WON'T PRINT

@BIDCALLER, Welcome to HP Support Community!

I understand you have issues printing from your Mac Computer to the printer. This could be an issue with connectivity or the installed drivers. Let us try to isolate and resolve the issue-

  1. Turn off the printer and your computer, and then disconnect the USB cable from the computer.
  2. Inspect the cable.

    • Look for any damage. If the cable is damaged, replace the cable.

    • Check the length of the cable. If the cable is more than 3 m (9 ft 10 in) in length, replace the cable with one that is shorter.

  3. Connect the cable to a different USB port on the computer. The port should be USB 2.0 or greater. If you use a USB hub or docking station, connect the cable directly to the computer.

  4. Make sure the cable is fully secured to both ports.

  5. Turn on the computer, and then wait for the computer to complete the startup.

  6. Turn on the printer.

Make sure the printer is ready

Make sure the printer is ready to receive a print job.

  1. Look at the printer. If it is off or in sleep mode, press the Power button to turn it on or wake it.

  2. Make sure the printer has paper loaded into the input tray, the correct ink or toner cartridges installed, and there are no errors or blinking lights on the printer control panel.

  3. Restart the printer and wait until it is ready to print.

  4. Try to print.

Keep me posted for further assistance.
