Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

At first the printer (HP 5252) would print all words with a streak through 1/2 of it.  Now it will not print any words at all.  Help!

The hints you gave me did not work but I printed them for later information.   Even though the printer indicated I had plenty of black ink I inserted a new cartridge and that did the trick.  Thanks for your assistance and prompt reply.

Hi @MaryLou6 ,

Welcome to the HP Support-Community.

I think there is a problem with the black cartridge.

Remove the cartridge and turn it upside down for about an hour. In many cases, this procedure helps.

After reinstalling the cartridge, please try to print out a document and check, if the problem remains. If so, run an automatic cartridge clean.

You can also try these steps:

Take a handkerchief and the black cartridge. Now press the cartridge like a stamp on the handkerchief for about 2-3 seconds. You should see a strong, black strip. Is this the case?
If there is no or very little ink on the handkerchief, moisten the handkerchief slightly and press the cartridge again, this time for about 30 seconds on it, until more ink comes out.
Afterwards, re-insert the cartridge and run a cartridge clean, if necessary.

Best,

Nils_K

What is the result?
