Office Jet 6962 will not print black ink

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After the original black cartridge that came with the printer started to get low, I replaced it with a 902 HP cartridge. It no longer prints even a trace of black ink. It still prints color fine. I tried putting the old cartridge back in and still only blank white pages come out when printing black. I believe I see small splatters of black ink on the inside of the printer.

 

I have tried hard reset, I have tried cleaning the print head, I have updated the printer to the newest software.
