HP Office Jet 8610
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

My 8610 will not power on; indicator light inside is lit; plugged it to multiple working outlets but still no luck. Anybody else with this problem? Thanks for the help

Hello, @Angelo_Tuble – Hope you are well 🙂

Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums! This is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips!

I understand that your printer is not powering on. I will certainly try my best to help you with the issue 🙂

Let’s first try a power drain on the printer. Here are the steps:

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Remove USB cable, if present.
  • Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
  • Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

If the issue persists, then I would suggest contacting the HP phone support to get the printer serviced or a possible upgrade.

You can visit http://www.support.hp.com/contact-hp and fill in your product details to get the tech support number.

(1) Once the support page opens please select the country in which you're located. Next, enter your HP model number on the right.

(2) Next, choose the 'Contact Support' tab at the top and scroll down to the bottom of the 'HP Support- Contact' page to fill out the form provided with your contact information.

(3) Once completed click the 'Show Options' icon on the bottom right.

(4) Lastly, scroll down to the bottom of the page and select 'Get phone number.' A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

I hope that answers your concern adequately. Let me know!

Good luck 🙂
